A writer and translator who was born, raised, and educated
in Ohio, Diane Kendig is a native of Canton. In addition to three chapbooks of
poems, she has published over a hundred poems, essays, and translations in
journals and anthologies. She moved to Cleveland in 1976 to study at Cleveland
State University and had the pleasure to remain in Cleveland until 1984. She is
the recipient of two Ohio Arts Council Fellowships in Poetry, a Fulbright
lectureship in translation, a Yaddo Fellowship, and national teaching awards.
She currently lives in Lynn, Massachusetts and says, “Of all the places I have
lived, Cleveland is the one I miss the most. It was a great place to come of
age as a writer.”
